Brigid's Day: Planting Seeds + Upcoming Herbal Workshops in Nelson and Vancouver

plant faceGreetings plant lovers,Today is a special day in the great turning of the seasonal wheel.  Most often called Groundhog Day, it's also called Imbolc by the wiccan tradition.I prefer the name Brigid's Day because Brigid is the Goddess of Healing and the Plant World.  (you can see why it holds a special place in my heart!)We are now half way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.  You can tell that the days are getting longer.  There's a noticeable shift and you can feel the excitement of Spring energy starting to swirl. The plants feel the shift as well, as gardeners and farmers will tell you...  It's time to starting planting.I'll be honest, I'm not much of a gardener.  So to sync myself with the seasonal shift, I plant my intent and doing some heart-centered goal setting.garlic sproutThis practice is different than "regular" goal setting techniques because it's about allowing your goals to sprout from your heart.  My approach to gardening has always been to nourish and support the seeds that do come up rather than trying to manage the landscape.Practically, this means that I get to ask the question, "what's really in my heart?" outside the confines of the "shoulds" that I tell myself.I encourage you to take a few minutes over the next few days to ask "what's really in your heart?" and plant some seeds of intent for this coming season.  You can even plant some actual seeds as a little ritual. What's in your heart for this coming year?strength & wisdom, garliq
