In support of Earth Day being every day…

Greetings Nature-Lovers,

And Happy belated Earth Day to you!  This is, of course, if it means anything to you.

Personally, I’ve been wrestling with my cynicism around Earth Day again this year.   I know that it’s meant to be one of those “awareness raising” days, but it seems tokenistic to me to plant a few seeds, use a little bit less electricity or take a break from the car for a day.  Especially, when none of those things are going to reverse any environmental damage or bring an end to the resource-extracting, colonial capitalist system that is actually a threat to the Earth. (or more specifically, to life on Earth)

I almost didn’t send this email, but 3 things changed my mind…

  1. I found a great podcast that you’re definitely going to want to check out.

  2. I’ve got a new video to share.  It’s a totally different way of practicing Nature-Connection than I’ve ever taught or shared publicly.

  3. The dates have changed slightly with my new mentorship program.

  4. And... I’m going to add a 4th, because i’d love to hear what Earth Day means to you?  Do you do something special?  What’s your take on how important/effective it is?

Please comment below.

So, I’m going to touch on those in reverse order…

#3 ...  Due to a variety of reasons, I’ve changed the dates for my new mentorship program.  It will now begin a month later than I announced recently.

The first call will be SUNDAY June 6 and the Early bird deadline is two weeks earlier, May 23...

#2 … a recent video I made about the Sit Spot practice...

It’s always been plants for me.  At least, it was until I started my sit spot practice.

For most of my career, it’s the plant world that has been my doorway to Nature.  The fact that plants are medicine, so tickled my interest that I narrowed my focus even further.  My way of practicing “deep nature connection” has been to connect with specific plants and to learn deeply from them.

When I learned the Sit Spot practice a few years ago, it took me a while to warm up to it because it’s SO different from my experiences.

I’m glad to say that has changed.  Now, my Sit Spot practice aids my plant connections enormously.  I see with new eyes and hear with new ears.

#1 … here’s the podcast that knocked my socks off.

They say A LOT of things that I’ve been saying are important for many years.  But, they say it better than I do!

It’s called For The Wild.

And, I really enjoy it.  It’s certainly more academic than I am, but don’t let that put you off.  There is a lot of great material in there, even if they like to use big words a little too often.

Here’s the first episode I listened to… Growing the Planthroposcene (which means seeing the world through our relationships with plants)

In this episode, they invite humans to be “co-conspirators” with both plants and with indigenous peoples (hmm, do you think there’s a linke?!).

You’ve gotta love the frame of Co-Conspirators with Nature!

And that brings me back to the title of this email…

Earth Day IS Everyday when you are a Co-Conspirator with Mother Earth!

strength & wisdom.

PS.  Do you know any plant-loving folks who are also highly sensitive or “intuitive”?  Maybe some artists, witches or gardeners, who find a sense of spirituality in Nature and plants?

If so, I could REALLY use your help in spreading the word about my new mentorship program.

Would you be willing to take a moment to either forward this email to one of those people or post to a FB group?

No pressure, of course.  But I know that you know folks who I don’t know.  You’re part of FB groups, social media networks and social circles that I can’t get to.

And with the world in this state, people are looking to build resilience through deep nature connection these days.

For “intuitive”/sensitive, plant-loving people …

Do you ever struggle to make sense of those whispers you hear from plants?   AND then how do you develop trust in what you hear? (especially if you value practical applications!)

My friend Garliq has a new online program that can help with exactly these challenges…

#3 …

Have you ever done a plant sit?  Or maybe you’ve had an “intuitive” experience with a plant that seemed like you received some communication?

It happens to many of us.  And even though we’ve been told that we’re making it up, we’re not so sure.

If this sounds like you, you’ll want to check out this new program by my friend Garliq…

PPPS.   A huge thank you to anyone and everyone who is able to pass this on to even just 1 person or group!

As my business awakes from the homeschooling-induced slumber of the past few years, I’m finding new ways to reach the right people for this work.  I am enormously grateful for your help !!
